Monosaccharides are the most basic form of carbohydrates. Monosaccharides can be linked together to form long, compact chains ca

lled polysaccharides, which require less space than the equivalent amount of monosaccharides. Both plants and animals store excess carbohydrates as polysaccharides. Which of the following best describes why the formation of polysaccharides is beneficial to organisms? A. Polysaccharide formation allows organisms to store more energy per carbohydrate bond. B. Polysaccharide formation limits the number of carbohydrate bonds that can be formed. C. Polysaccharide formation limits the amount of energy an organism can store. D. Polysaccharide formation allows organisms to store energy more efficiently.

Polysaccharide formation allows organism to store energy efficiently. The storage form of food in animals is glycogen and in plants it is starch. Both glycogen and starch are polysaccharides of glucose. Many glucose units are linked together by condensation reaction to form polysaccharide. Compared to having several molecules of glucose in a bulk it is better to store it in the form of condensed bulk i.e polysaccharide. Thus polysaccharides which are formed by condensation reaction i.e by the loss of water molecules are easy to store.

Polysacchrides are: a) stored in the form of condensed bulk

b) they are chemically non-reactive

c) they are osmolytically inactive

After infection of a cell, a viral particle must transport itself to the nucleus in order to produce viral proteins. What is the
kykrilka [37]

Answer:

Double-stranded DNA

Explanation:

If a virus requires to transport its genome in the nucleus to produce viral protein then the viral genome content must be DNA. This DNA of the virus will use the RNA polymerase of the host cell and will first convert into mRNA in the nucleus.

Then the mRNA of the virus will come out of the nucleus because the protein synthesis takes place outside the nucleus and in the cytoplasm. So in the cytoplasm by using host translational machinery the viral mRNA will code for viral proteins. So the correct answer is double-stranded DNA.

True or false: surveillance can be performed through either stationary or mobile means.
Ivanshal [37]
This is true. Surveillance can be performed efficiently through both stationary and mobile means. As far as human surveillance goes, people can track other people by tailing them or by using a stationary means such as a stake out. As far as technology goes, there are plenty of mobile devices that can be used for surveillance such as tracking devices. Security cameras can be used for stationary purposes.
