\bf (\stackrel{x_1}{7}~,~\stackrel{y_1}{-6})~\hspace{10em} \stackrel{slope}{m}\implies \cfrac{1}{2} \\\\\\ \begin{array}{|c|ll} \cline{1-1} \textit{point-slope form}\\ \cline{1-1} \\ y-y_1=m(x-x_1) \\\\ \cline{1-1} \end{array}\implies y-\stackrel{y_1}{(-6)}=\stackrel{m}{\cfrac{1}{2}}(x-\stackrel{x_1}{7})\implies y + 6 = \cfrac{1}{2}x-\cfrac{7}{2} \\\\\\ y = \cfrac{1}{2}x-\cfrac{7}{2}-6\implies y = \cfrac{1}{2}x-\cfrac{19}{2}

Since the question already give the slope we only need to find the y-intercept.

Slope-intercept form: y = mx + b

-6 = 1/2(7) + b

-6 = 3.5 + b

-6 - 3.5 = 3.5 - 3.5 + b

-9.5 = b

Now, we can write this in slope-intercept form.

y = 1/2x - 9.5

Best of Luck!

Please help. Write as a single logarithm, a) log(13)+log(4) b) log(small 5)(14)-log(small 5)(2)
dsp73

Answer:

a) \log 52

b) \log_57

Step-by-step explanation:

Use logarithm properties:

\log_ab+\log_ac=\log_a(b\cdot c)\\ \\\log_ab-\log_ac=\log_a\dfrac{b}{c}

Then

a) \log 13+\log 4=\log 13\cdot 4=\log 52

b) \log_514-\log _52=\log _5\dfrac{14}{2}=\log _57

A flat rectangular piece of aluminum has a perimeter of 62 inches. The length is 15
Salsk061 [2.6K]

Answer:

So, the required width of rectangular piece of aluminium is 8 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given:

Perimeter of rectangular piece of aluminium = 62 inches

Let width of rectangular piece of aluminium = w

and length of rectangular piece of aluminium  = w+15

We need to find width i.e value of x

The formula for finding perimeter of rectangle is: Perimeter=2(Length+Width)\\

Now, Putting values in formula for finding Width w:

Perimeter=2(Length+Width)\\\\62=2(w+15+w)\\62=2(2w+15)\\62=4w+30\\62-30=4w\\4w=32\\w=\frac{32}{4}\\w=8

After solving we get the width of rectangular piece :w = 8

So, the required width of rectangular piece of aluminium is 8 inches

City cabs charges a $2.25 pickup fee and $1.25 per mile traveled diego's fare for a cross-town cab ride is $18.50 how far did he
Kruka [31]

Using proportions, it is found that Diego traveled 15 miles in the cross-town cab ride.

<h3>What is a proportion?</h3>

A proportion is a fraction of a total amount, and the measures are related using a rule of three.

In this problem, for the miles traveled, Diego paid 18.50 - 2.25 = $16.25. Considering the fee of $1.25 per mile, the distance he traveled is given by:

d = 16.25/1.25 = 15.
