History

It's pretty much just a movement of valuing human life. During the Renaissance, people would put so much emphasis on religion and unworldly things instead of human potential and what was physically in front of us. Humanism led people to realize that humans could achieve great things in the world and that we shouldn't completely revolve our lives around religion and religious figures like the Pope.

What led to the many civil wars in Rome?
katrin [286]

The thing that led to many civil wars in Rome was because of land expansion. Rome was building up their empire by expanding the empire and getting more land, but it was not so easy to get land because there were already other Empire's that had it. In order for Rome to claim more land and expand their empire, they had to go into war for the land. For example, Rome went into what is called the "Punic Wars" against the Carthage Empire for land, and Rome won the wars. Another war was against each other, the cause of the civil war against Romans was because of power, and Romans wanted power over each other so they could have the land that they fought for.

What did Thomas Jefferson mean by “Never abandon a plan, principle, or friend” (please help)
Sergio039 [100]

Answer:

Those things are most important in a persons life. Without them a person wouldn't survive in this world. Abandoning a plan is giving up, instead of abandoning it, make a few changes to it. Don't abandon a principle for it is a rule or moral compass that directs you into the person you are and the choices you make. At last a friend, someone to support you in the decisions you make and who can guide you or at least give advice to you, to make the right decision.
