Roots absorb nutrients and water from the soil, as well as keep the plant attached to the ground. Some plants also use the roots, to parasite other plants (ie, Mistletoe) or reproduction (Potatoes).

Stems, transport water and nutried to the plants up reaches, sometimes they are important for protection, as they are covered in thorns or toxins.

Branches sort of form the same function as stems, only they branch out from the stem.

Leaves, are where the plant conducts its metabolic photosynthetic processes. Sometimes the leaves are also important for protection (the thorns of cacti are actually leaves).

Flower, are useful for reporduction, giving out pollen and when combined with other pollen are turned into fruits.

Fruits are the protective object of the seed, and provide nutrition for the seed, a means of seed dispersion, and lastly protection from outside forces.

Which statement(s) about lipases is/are true?
Digiron [165]

Answer:

The correct answer will be option- C.

Explanation:

Lipase is the enzymes which aid in the digestion of the fats in the body. The main types of digestive lipases are secreted by the pancreas which acts on the glycerol of the triglycerides.  The pancreatic lipase acts on the fats in the small intestine which break down the fats into smaller molecules called micelles.

Other type of lipases are present in the body which also helps in the digestion of the fats like lipoprotein lipase which acts on the lipoproteins formed by the breakdown of the cholesterol-like low and very low density lipoproteins. These lipoproteins in the blood are activated by the Apoc-II component and after the breakdown of lipoproteins delivers them to peripheral tissues.

Thus, Option-C is the correct answer.

____is the cells way of converting food molecules into a form useful to the cell.
enyata [817]

Answer:

Respiration

Explanation:

cross off Photosynthesis because that is specifically for plants. Diffusion is when molecules move from high concentration to low concentrations. Osmosis helps transport water across the cell.

By process of reduction you can figure it out, but here is what cellular respiration is in it's basics so you can remember in the future. Cellular Respiration is just the process that takes place in cells to convert Chemical Energy from nutrients and turn it into ATP, then releases waste.

Explain the mechanism of nematocyst in Portuguese man of war?
Katyanochek1 [597]

Answer:

Scientists believe that man-of-wars spawn together in large numbers, with each colony (being either all male polyps or all female polyps) releasing gametes into the water to be fertilized. The resultant larvae then each go through asexual budding to produce a new man-of-war colony.
