At their meeting in January of 1942, the argument that persuaded President Roosevelt and Prime Minister Churchill to pursue a "Europe-first" strategy was that they felt that Germany posed a greater threat than Japan.

We are talking about the most important decision that the leaders of the United States and Great Britain made during the Arcadia Conference that was held in Washington D.C. from December 1941 to January 1942. Roosevelt and Churchill had their military leaders participate in the secret meetings and decide that Germany posed a greater threat than Japan, and defining the ware strategy to be implemented.

This painting shows a key event from the First Crusade. How are the Crusaders identified in the painting?
Nimfa-mama [501]
Assuming that you're talking about the Fall of constantinople, where the crusaders were pictured as tiny men massacred by giants Ottoman, the crusaders identified is as an insult and far from the truth since the painting was massively exaggerated

Hope this helps

Discuss the compromise of 1876.Why did the North decide to call it quits and leave the freed peoples to an unhappy fate Jim Crow
JulijaS [17]

Answer:

The underlying factor here is that the North had agreed to not interfere with the way the southern states handle their black population in the compromise of 1876.

Explanation:

The compromise of 1876 was an undocumented agreement, that was used to settle the disputes that followed the 1876 presidential election, within the United States congress. After the compromise, President Rutherford B. Hayes was declared president, over Democrat Samuel J. Tilden, but an agreement was reached that president Rutherford Hayes would ensure the withdrawal of federal troops from former confederate states of the south. Other parts of the agreement was that David M. Key of be appointed as Postmaster General, and the non interference of the north with how the southern states handle their black populations. Some other agreements like he construction of another transcontinental railroad in the south, and the industrial reconstruction of the south were not acted upon.

The North called it quit and left the freed people to an unhappy Jim Crow fate because, part of the agreement reached in the 1876 compromise was that the North wold not interfere with the way the southern states handles their black freed people population. Also, the North was not really affected anyways, and although a few people in the North denounced these laws, nothing much was done about it.
