Hiya,

The plasma membrane is sorta like the military of the cell. It's function (it's meaning) is to serve and protect the cell from it's scary surroundings! Composed of proteins, it is very selectively permeable. Meaning it allows certain types of molecules or even ions to pass on through it, as in, active or passive transport.

So, the answer might be...
A.) It is selectively permeable to certain substances.

Hope this helps!

Ruchi is preparing for class tomorrow, so she is reading about how neurons communicate. one of the first key terms she memorizes
Ket [755]

Answer;

-Neurotransmitters.

One of the first key terms she memorizes is neurotransmitters because these are the chemicals via which neurons communicate with each other.

Explanation;

-Neurons communicate with each other via electrical events called 'action potentials' and chemical neurotransmitters. At the junction between two neurons (synapse), an action potential causes neuron A to release a chemical neurotransmitter.

-Neurons are connected to each other through synapses, sites where signals are transmitted in the form of chemical messengers.

What is used to measure volume?
gavmur [86]

Answer:

Volume is the amount of space occupied by a sample of matter. The volume of a regular object can be calculated by multiplying its length by its width by its height. Since each of those is a linear measurement, we say that units of volume are derived from units of length.
