The main purpose of The United States after Cuba's independence was an American adhesion of the island, the location of the Country was a profitable place to expand business and industry, but following a war, where the U.S took place against Spain there was a long unilateral relationship  with Cuba, in which this country could only make treaties with the United States.

The Cuban war of independence affects American interests in different ways, the business activities as previously mentioned, the slave trade, and the Platt Amendment survival that during 33 years controlled the commercial, political and economic relations between both nations, besides of the strategic location of a US naval base in Guantanamo which meant another advantage for America.

The president is able to check power of congress by
Mademuasel [1]

Correct answer:  A.  vetoing laws passed by Congress.

This is a significant power in the hands of the President.  Congressional decision making is affected by the knowledge that in both houses of Congress, a two-thirds majority will be needed to override the President's veto.  Historically, Congress has been able to override less than 10% of presidential vetoes.  So Congress will seek to make sure they have sufficient votes before proceeding with passage of a bill into law ...  unless they want to pass the legislation simply as a statement of principle, knowing they don't have the votes to override a veto.

Elina [12.6K]
During the 80s, Native Americans mostly faced the problems of poverty and inability to get jobs. They wanted social justice and fought for their rights to become employed. Reservations were extremely poor and crime and alcoholism thrived, practically there not being any future for them. Not to mention that it was just after the two federal agents were killed in the 70s.
