"Sandy and Thomas " is an example of a ____________ subject.

English
1 answer:
Masja [62]3 years ago
4 0

This is an example of a multiple subject. In English, a sentence can have one subject or multiple ones.

Example: John is a very responsible student. (This is an example of a single subject.)

John and Ana are very intelligent students. (This is an example of a multiple subject.)

Other examples of multiple subjects include the following:

My sisters and I played together in childhood.

My dog, my cat, and my bird are the most beautiful animals in the world.

In a sentence, you can have the number of subjects you wish, always that then they are well conjugated; that is, they should be conjugated in the plural form of the verb because they are more than one subject.

Think about the author's attitude toward the oil spill. Then explain the author's purpose, or reason for writing this editorial.
Natalka [10]

The correct answer to this open question is the following.

The author's purpose or reason for writing this editorial was to inform and make people conscious about the terrible oil spill in April 2010in the Gulf of México, with the explosion of a British Petroleum rig. This spill caused so much damage to the ecosystem and the environment of the Gulf of México.

The two details from the text that support the answer are the following. The author, Kate Jackson, writes that the BP company knew about the possibility of an accident of this magnitude but it didn't do anything to prevent it. She said that David Rainey, an executive form British Petroleum, had assured the members of the Senate that the facility had no risk of a spill.

The other detail that supports the answer is that she wrote that the oil industry always had been aware of the dangers of spills but never has done so much to prevent them. Also, people like Robert Bea, an offshore engineer, had warned British Petroleum.

6a. What made Dave Withrow uniquely qualified to join Operation
Len [333]

Hello. You did not enter the text to which this question refers, however, after searching for it on the internet, I was able to find another question exactly the same as yours that presented the text "NOAA’s Big Miracle Worker" as the text in question. If this is your case I hope the answer below can help you.

Answer and Explanation:

The text is an interview with Dave Withrow about the operation that allowed the rescue of three gray whales that were trapped in Barrow, Alaska in 1988. Withrow shows that he was the qualified professional to work in this operation because he had experience working with marine manifers, such as whales, because when he worked at NOAA at the Alaska Fisheries Science Center, his department was responsible for taking care of any matter related to whales. This can be seen in the first paragraph of the text, in the lines: “... anything whale-related, especially on the West Coast, comes through our office.”
