I would definitely say that this is the first option: Teenagers' concerns about appearance can affect their feelings about themselves.
Why do I think this? Well let me explain. In the first passage, the person specifically prays for the boy they fell in love with, as well as a new nose. That would indicate that they aren't happy with the way they look.
Now onto the second passage. Alfonso believes that he has to be in amazing shape to get the girls in "cut offs" to notice him, and to think that he's strong and handsome. He wants them to think that he's capable of handling himself, no matter the circumstances. It also states that he hates the way he looks. He's insecure about what he looks like.
I hope that this helps you.

What does lady Macbeth ask for when learning of the king's appearance in her home
Allushta [10]

Answer:

Actually, Lady Macbeth questioned them to do this (or wishes they could) somehow or because  she wants to help her husband kill Duncan and do the other things that he needs to do in order to become king. Her suggestion or request is based on the idea that women, by their nature, are unsuited for doing brutal things like that.

What happens the day of the alleged rape in to kill a mockingbird?
UNO [17]
On the day of the alleged rape, Tom Robinson was returning home when he saw Miss Ewell who had had a thing for him, having been lonely and molested by her drunkard father. She asked Tom Robinson if he could help her and when he walked inside the house she started throwing herself at him and wanted for them to kiss. Her father saw this and beat her severely, making her go to the police and say that Tom Robinson raped her, just so she wouldn't bring shame to family for loving a black man.
