The 14th amendment dictate how the government could not override the natural and legal rights that owned by the citizen of united states. This protection is only provided for legal citizens of united states and not extended to other people in the country (diplomats and illegal immigrants)

I don’t think it was necessarily a war for control of the whole of America due to it being such a small portion of the country. The outcome of the French and Indian war was Britain being victorious and winning. Although, the cost of the war greatly enlarged Britain's debt.
