The correct answer to this open question is the following.

Under Emperor Wen Confucianism benefited in that it was not only tolerated but respected. But the most important aspect of Emperor Wen regarding religious beliefs was that he was not only respectful of Conficianism but to other religious beliefs such as Daoism, and Buddhism, So he had the "knack" to allow all religious teachings to be part of the empire, creating respect, tolerance, and harmony to unify the large empire.

The line between slavery and freedom was more permeable in the seventeenth century than it would become later. explain how slave
Sergio [31]
Slavery during the 17th century worked more like indentured servitude. The first blacks to come to the Americas were indentured servants. They worked off the debt of their passage and were given land following their servitude. The whole system of indentured servitude fell away after land resources became limited. Blacks were allowed to purchase their freedom, buy land, even some having their own slaves. As the colonies entered into the 18th century, the black population was increasing as slave labor became more important to the plantations. Increasing numbers coupled with slave revolts led to the creation of slave laws in many of the colonies. These laws made slavery lifelong and a status associated with birth to a slave mother. Though slavery was becoming less common in the British Empire, when the US became independent, slavery became a part of the new country's economy and social structure.

what is the social structure employed by hindus but rejected by buddhist that kept citizens in a rigid hierarchical state
borishaifa [10]

The social structure employed by the Hindus but rejected by the Buddhists is the caste system.

Explanation:

There are several things that define India and that are unique to its society, and one of those trademarks is the caste system. This system is a social structure that has been practiced for thousands of year. The caste system has been implemented by the Hindus, and has been essential part of the Hindu society.

The Buddhist, on the other hand, became majority in India in one period, and the caste system was rejected by them, as it was a system that was discriminatory and restrictive, especially toward the members of the lower castes, and that was not what the Buddhism encourages. That didn't lasted long though, and once the Hindus became majority again, the caste system again became part of the whole subcontinent. It was only recently that the caste system has been outlawed and made illegal, as it was seen as a social structure that harms the society and its progress.
