A. "Man's nature is not essentially evil. Brute nature has been known to yield to the influence of love. You must never despair of human nature."

I think that the following quote means that no one is born with the intent of doing evil things. It has to do with how people are raised. Little children are often influenced by what they see other people doing and don't know the difference from right or wrong. When you are older you know the difference between what is right or wrong, how you were raised doesn't justify your actions. We can overcome this, and don't look at the human race as a crude breed. Just because there are a few bad people doesn't mean that their are no good people out there. People often change over time and learn from their mistakes, but many do not. For this reason I don't exactly agree with the quote.

B. "Man is the cruelest animal."

I believe that this quote means that humans are cruel, and for a good reason. We as humans are predatory and we survive by killing and eating other creatures. People also bully each other and harm people because they are that heartless and have no reason to other than they find great joy in doing it. There are good people that take care of animals and their children, but the wicked put them in harms way with no care. These are the reasons why I find I do agree with the quote.

C. "The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it."

The starts out by saying that the world isn't exactly the safest place to live. It hasn't been and most likely will never be because some people are just sick. the quote continues to say that the blame for the world being this way isn't because of the people who do the terrible things, but points the finger at us. The world isn't a safe place to live because of what we have done, but through our inaction. We do nothing because taking the action needed can be dangerous, time consuming, and a real pain. The actions needed to fend off evil acts are brave and rarely done. For this reason, I agree with the quote. if people manned up and worked together we could make the world a safer place.
