3/4 is greater than 1/4! Imagine a cake with four slices in it, would you rather eat one slice out of four or three slices out of four? Three slices out of four is more than just one slice, and the more the cake the better~ Hope this helps! c:

Answer for brainlest for 25 points
Gnom [1K]

Answer:

1. 23/4  ,  2. 5.555...   , 3. 5 1/2   ,    4. √28

you want to make them all into decimals so you can compare then easier

23/4 would be 5.75

√28 (just put it in a calculator)  would be 5.29

5 1/2  would be 5.5  (make  it into a improper fraction 11/2 then do 11/2 and you get 5.5)

and you have 5.555.

so...

5.75

5.29

5.5

5.55555

first is 5.75 it's bigger because of the .(75)

then 5.555 because it's .(55)

then 5.5 because it's .(50)

and the last one 5.(29)

What is the area of a trapezoid ABCD with bases AB and CD ,
Mrrafil [7]

check the picture below on the top side.

we know that x = 4 = b, therefore,  using the 30-60-90 rule, h = 4√3, and DC = 4+8+4 = 16.

\bf \textit{area of a trapezoid}\\\\&#10;A=\cfrac{h(a+b)}{2}~~&#10;\begin{cases}&#10;a,b=\stackrel{bases}{parallel~sides}\\&#10;h=height\\[-0.5em]&#10;\hrulefill\\&#10;a=8\\&#10;b=\stackrel{DC}{16}\\&#10;h=4\sqrt{3}&#10;\end{cases}\implies A=\cfrac{4\sqrt{3}(8+16)}{2}&#10;\\\\\\&#10;A=2\sqrt{3}(24)\implies \boxed{A=48\sqrt{3}}

now, check the picture below on the bottom side.

since we know x = 9, then b = 9, therefore DC = 9+6+9 = 24, and h = b = 9.

\bf \textit{area of a trapezoid}\\\\&#10;A=\cfrac{h(a+b)}{2}~~&#10;\begin{cases}&#10;a,b=\stackrel{bases}{parallel~sides}\\&#10;h=height\\[-0.5em]&#10;\hrulefill\\&#10;a=6\\&#10;b=\stackrel{DC}{24}\\&#10;h=9&#10;\end{cases}\implies A=\cfrac{9(6+24)}{2}&#10;\\\\\\&#10;A=\cfrac{9(30)}{2}\implies \boxed{A=135}

What is the equation of the line that passes through the point (1, 3) and is perpendicular to the line 2x+3y=15?
WARRIOR [948]

Answer:

<h2>y = -3/2x + 9/2</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

first let's convert the equation to y=2/3x+5

since the line is perpendicular we know that m=-3/2=1.5. now we just need to plug these numbers into an equation.

3=(-1.5)1+b

multiply.

3=-1.5+b

now add 1.5 to both sides of the equation.

4.5=b

change that into a fraction.

9/2.

now using 9/2 as b and -3/2 as m we have our equation:

<h2><u>y = -3/2x + 9/2.</u></h2>
