Hey please help with this question asap: A map of the town that Annie and Barbara live in can be represented by the Cartesian pl

ane. Annie is located at (5,-11) and Barbara says she is located at (-7,13). They agree to meet at the midpoint of the segment formed by their current locations. However, it turns out that Barbara read the map wrong, and she is actually at (-5,5). What is the positive difference in the y-coordinates of where they agreed to meet and where they should actually meet?
thank you so much!

Original locations:
Annie: (5, -11)
Barbara: (-7, 13)

Note that the midpoint between two points (x₁, y₁) and (x₂, y₂) is
[(x₁+x₂)/2, (y₁+y₂)/2]

Therefore the meeting place has coordinates
[(5-7)/2, (-11+13)/2] = (-1, 1)

Barbara ends up at (-5, 5).
The positive difference in the y-coordinates between (-1, 1) and (-5, 5) is
5 - 1 = 4

What is the equation of this line?
Please Help

Y=4x
Y=-1/4x
Y=-4x
Y=1/4x
Sveta_85 [38]

Answer: Y=-1/4x

Step-by-step explanation:

A good way to find an equation of a line is to look for the slope. An obvious spot on this line would be when it crosses (0,0), and another one to the right would be when it crosses at (4,-1).

The slope is rise over run, or if we use the two points we found, "rise" would be -1, because it's dropping 1 unit when going from (0,0) to (4,-1), and the "run" would be 4, because it moves to the right 4 from (0,0) to (4,-1).

Putting these two values together we get:

m (slope) = rise / run

m = -1 / 4

Out of all the equations we're given, we can look for the one with a slope of -1/4, which is given to us:

y = (-1/4)x

Can someone help me do this exercise
zubka84 [21]
The answer is 4 because if area is 28 meaning when you times the base and the height you'll get 28 therefore if you plug in 4 in the spot of x it should be 4+3 which equals 7 and since the value of x is 4 on top it must be 4 on the side too so you must do 7×4 which equals 28
