16. Love, ambition, greed, religious faith„these are some of the human emotions that motivate characters and help explain their

personalities and behavior. Choose a character who came alive for you in your readings so far this year. Write an essay in which you examine that characterÍs personality and motivation and show what the characterÍs behavior and attitudes reveal about human nature. Begin with an introductory paragraph that captures your readerÍs attention and includes a thesis statement that states your view of the character. Then, in the body of your essay, show how details in the work convey the characterÍs personality and motives. End with a concluding paragraph that sums up your main ideas about the character.

In the story “Story of An Hour,” the story revolved around Mrs. Mallard’s agony, grief and happiness all at once.

Mrs. Mallard had shown happiness and loss. She had been happy that she was glad that her husband is no longer alive. She was finally from her unhappy marriage, but she also felt loss because even if she doesn’t love him that much she had lived with him and somehow accepted him in her life.

Shakespeare shows the character's point of view by

B. figurative language

Explanation:

The Shakespearean language is some of the richest and the most figurative and thus it is most enduring out of many playwrights.

He deftly uses the themes and the motifs of the world around him to craft a language that is easily understandable and the characters seem motivated by things that audience can understand.

His rich figurative language takes its cues from the characters' emotional state and the environment they are in.
