nevsk [136]
A deal to buy California and settle the Texas boundary line--Slidell worked as an ambassador to Mexico to offer $25 million for California and agreement to set the boundary line of Texas at the Rio Grande.

Slidell brought this deal to Mexico partly because Texas was a free independent state that wanted to be annexed by the US but had not settled their southern border. The US wanted the boundary settled before annexing Texas. Also the wanted the California region to expand land holdings. Mexico rejected the offer.

The correct name is National Liberation Front of South Vietnam, also known as Viet Cong.

This massive political organization counted with its own army, the People's Liberation Armed Forces of South Vietnam (PLAF). They fought against the US and forces from South Vietnam during the Vietnam War, with the aim of releasing the Southern half of the country from imperialism and capitalism. Which Of The Following Best Explains Why The North Supported High Tariffs On <br> foreign goods
-BARSIC- [3]
Here is an explanation of tariffs. Since I can't see the statements for this question, you can use the following information to help.

Tariffs are a tax on an imported goods. These tariffs cause the price of foreign goods to increase. Many businesses, especially in the North, like the idea of tariffs because it makes more likely that citizens will buy products made by them rather than buying products made in other countries. Ultimately, a tariff helps to protect American industry/businesses.
