Whoever worded this question is a sadist, however this is what i think it was asking lol

A right triangle is half the size of a square. So if its area is 12, the square is 24. If our squares sides are 6. If that is true or triangles outer sides are 6 as well. To summarise:

Your square has an area of 24. Your triangle an area of 12, and their sides are 6.

dmitriy555 [2]

Given:

Height of man = 6 ft

Height of man's shadow = 11 feet

Height of building's shadow = 139 feet

To find:

The height of the building.

Solution:

We know that the heights of the objects and there shadows are always proportional.

\dfrac{\text{Height of man}}{\text{Height of man's shadow}}=\dfrac{\text{Height of the building}}{\text{Height of building's shadow}}

Let x be the height of the building.

\dfrac{6}{11}=\dfrac{x}{139}

Multiply both sides by 139.

\dfrac{6}{11}\times 139=x

\dfrac{834}{11}=x

75.8181...=x

x\approx 75.8

Therefore, the building is 75.8 feet long.

Answer:

x=9

Step-by-step explanation:

Equation: 5.60x=50.40

Solve: 5.60x=50.40

Divide both sides by 5.60 ( 5.60x/5.60 ) and ( 50.40/5.60 )

x=9

Find the area of the triangles and smal ler square and add them together ; and find the area of the complete square and set them equal to each other (these are known truths)
triangle: l×w /2
square: s^2
There are 4 triangles so

4 (1/2ab)+c^2= (a+b)(a+b)
simplify

2ab+c^2= a^2+2ab+b^2
-2ab both sides

c^2=a^2+b^2

tada!! it's proven :)
