PLEASE HELP i need a summary on what happened in chapter 6 lesson 1 The war for independence
Leno4ka [110]
Albert Marrin The War for Independence 1988

The story starts off in post revolutionary America and they talk about how the Townshend Act was frowned upon by many. The story then talks about how taxes got worse so the colonists fought back. Most of the common punishments to tax collectors were hanging a puppet dressed like said tax collectors on a tree. The next is more dark as they would strip the person naked then they would cover them in tar then that person would be covered in feathers, some even forced the tarred tax collectors to drink boiling tea. After Britain had heard what the colonies had done they sent over troops to ‘keep the colonies in line’ but in all honesty they just sparked the revolution even more. The Boston Massacre happens and after a while the war begins.
