The diagonal crossbar would create a hypotenuse so you can use Pythagorean Theorem of a^2 + b^2 = c^2. The two '4 feet' lengths would be the legs (a and b).

So now just plug in: 4^2 + 4^2 = c^2. Simplify to 16 + 16 = c^2. Simplify again to 32 = c^2. Square root both sides to isolate the variable c. to get C = sq4 \sqrt{2}.

The length of one of the diagonal crossbars is 4 \sqrt{2} feet.

n an amusement park, the bumper cars are sometimes becoming disabled and in need of repair. The repairman can fix the disabled b
grigory [225]

Answer:

1 hour 20 minutes

Step-by-step explanation:

Time to fix car ( repair time ) = 20 minutes

Breakdown rate ( λ ) = 2 car per hour

first step : determine service the service rate ( μ )

= 60 minutes / 20 minutes

= 3 cars per hour

next : determine the average waiting time for a disabled car

= 1 / (μ - λ)

= 1 / service rate - breakdown rate

= 1 / ( 3 - 2 )

= 1 / 1 = 1 hour

Finally Total time for a disabled car to be fixed

= repair time + average waiting time

= 20 minutes + 60 minutes

= 1 hour 20 minutes

Find three consecutive integers such that the sum of the first and twice the second is 110 minus three times the third
Serggg [28]

First off, consecutive integer and can be written as n, n+1 and n+2

(try putting a number in for n if it does not make sense yet)

The sum of the first and twice the second would be n+2(n+1)

So, our equation becomes

n+2(n+1)=110-3(n+2)

n+2n+2=110-3n-6

3n+2=104

6n=102

n=17

so, our three term are 17,18 and 19
