Answer:

Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier that not only changed baseball, but changed the culture and society of America itself. Jackie Robinson was not only a great baseball player, he was a great man who had enormous amounts of courage and pride. He took verbal beatings whenever he traveled with the Dodgers.

Jackie Robinson's place in baseball and American history is being remembered this month, which is Black History Month. His memory will be celebrated throughout the 2007 baseball season too. Back in 1947, Branch Rickey, the general manager of the Dodgers, wanted an African- American player on his team.

How would you change “to drive to the grocery store” to make it parallel with “reading my mom’s list of instructions”? by removi
alexgriva [62]
The correct answer is B. by changing "to drive" to "driving." In order for a construction to be parallel to another one, they have to have the same form. So, if one part of a construction is using the gerund form (reading my mom's list of instructions), then the other part has to end in -ing as well in order for them to be parallel. So, if you change the infinitive "to drive" to the gerund form "driving," you will create parallel constructions.

natima [27]

It seems right that a person that it's supposed to be helping us feel safe and that his main job is protect and serve, when we can prove of his wrongdoings, receives a harsher sentence that a person that doesn't work as a police officer. A criminal often times does it out of neccesity, because he'd grown up in a type of environment that he doesn't know any better. His chances at succeding in life are often limited by the same place and community that he grew up in. While it may seems true for a police officer to come from a bad neighborhood, it's also true that he went through training and education where he knows what's right or wrong, he doesn't have the need to steal because he has a steady job.
