The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were nuclear attacks ordered by President Truman against the Empire of Japan. The attacks were carried out on August 6 and 9, 1945, respectively, which contributed, together with the Soviet-Japanese War, to the surrender of Japan and the end of the Second World War.

With the Manhattan project, nuclear weapons continued to be built. Although it was very secret, the information leaked to the Soviet Union, with which the US lost its nuclear hegemony.

In this way, both countries agreed on the non-use of nuclear weapons in war conflicts (Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty), since they knew that a large-scale nuclear war would put at risk the very existence of a large part of the world's population.

The devastating bombing created a permanent stigma and fear of these powerful weapons that changed how we viewed warfare forever. The cold war stayed cold because all parties on all sides knew that if a war took place where the nuclear option was executed by both sides, life on earth would come to an end. Many can only hope that the warning those nightmare images from Hiroshima continue to scare the world away from ever using these horrible weapons again.

Which group resisted the Texas Equal Rights Amendment?
Serhud [2]
The best answer is, D. Male legislators.

Many male legislators elected to the Texas state legislature were opposed the passing of the Texas Equal Rights Amendment because they believed it was unnecessary. Those who supported this stance argued, the laws of the state already in place provided substantial protection for women under the rights of the law. However, this viewpoint was in contrast to many in Texas who supported the movement to pass the Texas Equal Rights Amendment and spoke out against those who did not. Though the law did not initially garner enough support, a version was passed in 1972 protecting one's rights under the law regardless of gender, race, or origin.
