Explain the difference between original jurisdiction and appellate jurisdiction.
allsm [11]

Answer: =======> The difference between, Original Jurisdiction refers to where a case originates. Appellate Jurisdiction means that the court reviews decisions from other courts. For example; if you are prosecuted for a crime, the court where the trial would be held has original jurisdiction. A court that reviews decisions of trial courts would have Appellate Jurisdiction. The U.S. Supreme Court is generally a court of appellate jurisdiction but it does have original jurisdiction for cases between states.

ELEN [110]

Answer:

Racial segregation in the United States Armed Forces, which has included separation of white and non-white American troops, quotas, restriction of people of colour troops to support roles, and outright bans on blacks and other people of colour serving in the military, has been a part of the military history of the United States since the American Revolution. Each branch of the Armed Forces has historically had different policies regarding racial segregation. Although Executive Order 9981 officially ended segregation in the Armed Forces in 1948, following World War II, some forms of racial segregation continued until after the Korean War. The US government complied with an Icelandic government request not to station black soldiers on the US base in Keflavík, Iceland until the 1970s and 1980s when black soldiers began to be stationed in Iceland.

Why did the civil war amendments have little effect in the south until 1965?
andrey2020 [161]
The South had seceeded from the Union to form the Confederacy. They considered themselves an independent nation, and, therefore, did not follow the laws and amendments passed by the Union. In 1965, however, the Union won the war, thus ending the existence of the Confederacy.
