Explanation:  The progressive era that occurred in the United States between the 1890's and 1920's was widespread social activism with demands for social reforms. These demands were related to the reduction of corruption, the elimination of problems caused by industrialization and urbanization, and also targeted corrupt politicians, and a strong political apparatus that opposed the reforms. In addition, the request was for the regulation of monopolies through anti-trust laws, and the creation of competition for equal conditions for all legitimate competitors, and thus reduce the prices of goods and the possibility of choosing.
