Could you add some more context to this? are you talking about France's current state or when the revolution happened? if it was about the time of the revolution (1789) then the reason why it needed to change was because the king was neglecting his people. outrageous taxes no one but the rich could pay, no food for the poor (but somehow the rich friends of the king where eating cake), the king and queen threw lavish party's while there citizens where dying in the street. not good. so a rebellion overthrew the monarchy.
