Aristotle was a famous figure of the Greco-Romano world which was the reason why medieval philosophers looked into his ideas. Aristotle's ideas were centered on "The One" and pursuing the meaning of Aesthetics which were the focus of Aquinas' ideas.

You could argue that Curley started fighting lennie for laughing then getting his hand broken.
