1. The image you have shared shows a pattern of inheritance known as codominance. In this example, both alleles are expressed, giving you the white and red phenotype.
2. This pattern of inheritance is quite different from the ordinary Mendelian genetics where there is one dominant trait that completely covers up the expression of the recessive trait. For example, in "normal" inheritance, if R was red and r was white, RR would be red, Rr would be red and rr would be white. In the picture you shared (codominance), we see the following pattern: RR would be red flowers, Rr would be red and white flowers, and rr would be white flowers. <span />

The discontinuous aspect of replication of DNA in vivo is caused by ________.
pychu [463]

Answer:

The 5' and 3' polarity restriction

Explanation:

Discontinuous replication is when synthesis of new DNA molecule takes place as a series of short fragments that will subsequently be joined together.

These fragments are called the Okazaki fragments.

DNA synthesis takes place from 3' to 5' end. However due to 5' and 3' polarity. The replication has to be discontinuous due to the synthesis happening backwards and okazaki fragments being formed.

Neurotransmitters transmit ____________ between ____________ , from neurons to glands, from neurons to organs, and from neurons
astraxan [27]

Answer:

1. Nerve impulse

2. Neurons

Explanation:

Neurotransmitters are compounds with low molecular weight. They are secreted by axon terminals of the neurons. The released neurotransmitters then bind to the receptors located on next neuron or on the surface of muscle cell.

The function of neurotransmitters is to carry the nerve impulse from presynaptic neuron to the postsynaptic neuron or from neurons to the effector organs such as muscles and glands.

For example, neurotransmitters are released into the synaptic cleft to transmit the nerve impulse between neurons.
