What is the difference between a government of force and a government of law?
xxMikexx [17]
Think of a policy as a plan. We will do B if A happens. The best example I can think of is the policy that the United States does not negotiate with terrorists. That is a policy, but it has been broken, for example, when POW were traded from Guantanimo Bay for US soldiers taken hostage.

A law is legally binding. For example, the President of the United States can veto bills. That isn't a policy. The President doesn't have a guideline that he can veto bills and Congress can't say we will break that "policy" this time. That is the law so they must allow it.

In short, policies are not legally binding. They are "plans".

Laws are legally binding. They are final and concrete, for the purposes of this discussion.

How did the United States change as it expanded westward?
Novay_Z [31]

Answer:

The quest for Western influence contributed to the conquest of Texas and the Mexican-American War in the mid-19th century. This extension led to disputes over the fate of Western slavery, raising tensions between the North and South, leading eventually to the fall of American independence and a bloody civil war.

Explain why are the seasons in Australia opposite from the seasons in the united states
Harman [31]

Answer:

The main reason is that the USA is in the Northern Hemisphere & Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere.

Explanation:

It has all to do with the tilt of the earth as it revolves around the Sun. Summer happens in the hemisphere tilted towards the Sun, and winter happens in the hemisphere tilted away from the Sun.

Now,in June, in the USA is tilted towards the Sun, the days are getting longer & the nights shorter, so it is getting warmer in the USA as they enter their Summer. It is the exact opposite in Australia.

Now, in June,in Australia is titled away from the Sun, the days are getting shorter & the nights longer, so it is getting cooler in Oz as they enter their Winter.
