Explanation:

River erosion is the carving of the earth’s surface by a river. There are four major ways that a river erodes;  attrition, solution, abrasion and hydraulic action. Waterfalls are mainly found upstream because the water moves at higher velocity (as a result of higher gradient in watershed regions) hence the water has a higher vertical erosion. Meanders and oxbow lakes are formed downstream where the gradient is low and water has a stronger horizontal erosion than vertical erosion.  

The rest of the choices are due to surface runoff erosion, especially on soil with no vegetation to break the running water.

Think about it this way: If you put a cup of water in two freezers, and Freezer A had a lower temperature than Freezer B, the water in Freezer A would freeze quicker because it is in a colder environment. Hope this helps!
