Your expression is ambiguous.

Do you mean a + (2/5)a^2 + 3?

or perhaps a + 2 / (5a^2) + 3?  Use parentheses for added clarity.

If you meant   a + (2/5)a^2 + 3, then

(2/5)a^2 + 1a + 3 (this can't be simplified further)

Your school’s band decides to sell cookie dough kits to raise money for a spring field trip. There is a Family Times Cookie Doug
nikitadnepr [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

let the Cookie Dough kit be x

and  Baker’s Delight kit be y

cost of Cookie Dough kit= $7

cost of  Baker’s Delight= $15

so

x+y=220------------1

7x+15y=2100------2

solve for x and y we have

multiply eqn 1 by 7 and subtract

  7x+7y=1540---------3

-  7x+15y=2100-------2

  0x-8y=-560

8y=560

divide both sides by 8 we have

y=560/8

y=70

put y=70 in eqn 1 we have

x+70=220

x=220-70

x=150

x=220-70

x=150

A. How many of each type of kit should your band purchase to raise the most money

Cookie Dough kit= 150

Baker’s Delight= 70

B. What is the most money that your band can raise?

Cookie Dough kit profit= selling price-cost price= 12-7= $5

Baker’s Delight profit= selling price-cost price= 25-15= $10

Amount made for Cookie Dough = 150*5=$750

Amount made for Baker’s Delight = 70*10=$700

total= 750+700= $1450

Find the taxable income of a married couple with three children, who have a combined income of $62,000.
xeze [42]

Answer :

taxable income is $30,300

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

The combine income of the husband and wife = $62,000

Number of children the couple has = 3

In order to find out the taxable income for an U.S. family, the following formula is used

taxable income = total income - exemption deduction - standard deduction

We know the exemption deduction for a married couple with three kids fixed according to the U.S. government is $19,500.

And the standard deduction for a married couple with three kids fixed according to the U.S. government is $12,200.

Therefore,

taxable income = total income - exemption deduction - standard deduction

                         = $62,000 - $19,500 - $12,200

                         = $30,300

Thus the taxable income is $30,300.
