Answer & Explanation: Lipids are any group of organic compounds characterized by being insoluble in water (as they are non-polar), and accounting for most of the fat present in the human body. As such, they include fats, oils, waxes, sterols and triglycerides. However, lipids are soluble in other lipids and some organic solvents  like chloroform, benzene, and ether. So, If you take lipids from the cellular membrane and place them in an organic solvent like benzene there is a dissolution reaction (benzene is a non-polar organic solvent) with an accumulation of the lipid bilayer of cellular membranes leading to an increase in the membrane surface area and fluidity.
