Read the excerpt from part one of Trifles. HALE. I didn’t hear or see anything; I knocked at the door, and still it was all quiet inside. I knew they must be up, it was past eight o’clock. So I knocked again, and I thought I heard somebody say, “Come in.” I wasn’t sure, I’m not sure yet, but I opened the door—this door (indicating the door by which the two women are still standing), and there in that rocker—(pointing to it) sat Mrs. Wright. (They all look at the rocker.) How does the underlined stage direction affect the mood of the scene?

Reil [10]

The Sumner is absolutely right because in this universe, every man and woman have to take of their own self and are responsible for themselves. They should not depend on others for their protection.

Explanation:

With the rights given to the men and the women who are the citizens of a country, there are certain responsibilities of the men and the women also that they should fulfill.

They should take care of themselves on their own and should not depend on others to take care of them. The government of a country should make policies to protect them but they should take care of themselves also. Thus this view of Sumner is right.

Why does Wiesel describe so little of the time period between his fathers death and the liberation of Buchenwald
LiRa [457]
Throughout the horrors of his captivity, Wiesel states that he needed to be strong for his father. He needed to survive for his father. After his father's death, he no longer feels as though he has anything to live for. It can be assumed that he no longer paid attention to the world around him. His lack of detail about that is due to the fact that he no longer cared about what was going on.
