Local medicinal plants was also very popular. From the Central America, they brought tobacco, cocoa beans and food such as corn, beans, pumpkins berries and so on. What Europeans gave in return were horses, guns, iron tools and utensiles, rum and textiles that were not availble to the local Indians.
