The correct answer is A nuclear envelope. Endomembrane system is a group of membranes and organelles in a eukaryotic cell that works together to modify, package and transport lipids and proteins. The organelles include lysosomes, nuclear envelope and the endoplasmic reticulum, golgi apparatus, vesicles and plasma membranes. Nuclear envelope also the nuclear membrane is a lipid bilayer that surrounds the nuclear material and the nucleolus in eukaryotic cells

1.what did magnesium and oxygen atoms had to do to bond ?
devlian [24]

Answer:

1. Magnesium and oxygen atoms bond to form an ionic compound; this is evident because one forms a cation and the other an anion. When an ionic compound is formed, one atom "steals" an electron (or electrons) from another. In this case, an oxygen atom (which is pretty electronegative by the way) "steals" 2 electrons from a magnesium atom. The resulting oxygen anion and magnesium cation attract one another to form a bond (more specifically, an ionic one).

2. The oxygen atom needed two sodium atoms to bond because it needs two additional electrons to achieve a stable octet of electrons. 1 sodium atom provides 1 additional electron after it is "stolen" by oxygen, so 2 sodium atoms are needed in total to form the bond.

3. The magnesium atom needed two fluorine atoms to bond because it needs to lose two electrons to achieve a stable configuration/octet of electrons. 1 fluorine atom "steals" one electron, so 2 are needed in total.

Assuming no crossing over between the gene in question and the centromere, during what phase of meiosis do alleles segregate?
choli [55]

Answer:

During Anaphase stage

Explanation:

Meiosis is the type of cell division employed during gamete formation when each resulting gamete (daughter cell) has their chromosomal number reduced by half. Meiosis occurs in a two step division; Meiosis I and II. Meiosis I involves the separation of homologous chromosomes (similar but non-identical chromosomes received from each parent) while Meiosis II involves separation of sister chromatids (replicated chromosomes).

Alleles are present on the chromosomes which segregate or separate during the anaphase stage. Alleles received from each parent are separated in Anaphase I of meiosis I, which the identical replicated alleles are separated in anaphase of meiosis II.

if a cat has a short tail it has ss alleles for tail length. if it has a long tail, what are the possible alleles it could have
Dmitrij [34]

Answer:

SS,or Ss

Explanation:

If the alleles for short tail length is ss then it would be opposite for long tail length such as SS and if the long gene is in front then it will have the long alleles such as Ss

Hope this was helpful

For each of the following, circle the word that does not belong belong with the rest and then in ONE complete sentence, explain
Vika [28.1K]

Answer: the words that doesn't belong include:

1.) Power

2.) Deforestation

Explanation:

1.) Coal, Oil, Solar and Natural Gas are considered to be sources of energy while POWER is not considered among the rest this is because it's energy in action and not a source of energy.

Coal, oil and natural gas are known as fossil fuels which are the most common sources of energy in industries and homes. These fossil fuels are destroyed by use, that is, they cannot be recovered. Alternative sources of energy is the solar which is gotten from the sun energy. Although not considered a very efficient energy producer, there are already discovered schemes that would provide us with an inexhaustible supply of energy which would also not cause any pollution problems.

2.) Biodegradable, Recycling and Sustainability are means by which pollution is being avoided in the environment. While DEFORESTATION is a process that can cause pollution of an environment, therefore it doesn't fit into the rest of other words.

Biodegradable materials can be broken down by microorganism. Examples include human and animal excreta. Recycling is the reprocessing of waste materials in order to be re-used. This reduces the amount of waste that are sent to incinerators. While sustainability is the maintenance of the ecosystem to remain diverse and productive over time. This could be seen in the preferred use of renewable energy over non renewable energy. But deforestation is the massive cutting down of trees which can cause soil erosion and climate changes leading to the pollution of the environment.
