It was worse than living with her mother. Oprah was assaulted from 9 to 13 years old. She kept her mouth shut, scared of the result. Her abusive relative threatened to murder her if she informed anybody. The event left Oprah physically and emotionally drained. But she didn't give up and continued battling. Oprah ran away from her difficulties several times, but she was always discovered by local cops or her father. When she was fourteen, she got terrible news. Oprah found out she was pregnant but miscarried the baby. The father was never identified or mentioned. Oprah had a difficult upbringing but maintained a positive outlook.
