The quote “... any Indian who received news of the Spaniards could have also easily received the infection” refers to the fact that when the Spanish explorers advanced into Central America, the diseases they were carrying often spread faster than them, including ahead of them.

The context is the so-called Columbian Exchange (after Christopher Columbus), which is the large exchange of animals, food, culture, people, techniques, and diseases that took place between Native Americans (or Indians) and Europeans after 1492.

The quote focuses on one particular aspect of this exchange: the spread of infections. While the Indians did contaminate the Europeans with some of their diseases, like syphilis, many infections destroyed Native American lives because they had not developed a resistance to them like Europeans did. These included measles and smallpox, which were introduced in America through the Caribbean in the early 16th century.

How effective was the roving attack on the British after Concord?
Eva8 [605]

Answer:

For the British, 73 were killed, 174 were wounded, and 26 were missing. While the colonists lost many minutemen, the Battles of Lexington and Concord were considered a major military victory and displayed to the British and King George III that unjust behavior would not be tolerated in America.

Explanation:

The first battle of the war, Lexington marked the beginning of the American Revolution. Although Lexington and Concord were considered British military victories, they gave a moral boost to the American colonists. On the night of April 18, 1775, hundreds of British troops marched from Boston to nearby Concord in order to seize an arms cache. Paul Revere and other riders sounded the alarm, and colonial militiamen began mobilizing to intercept the Redcoat column.

What negotiations would you suggest for countries who are hostile toward each other
mina [271]
I would strongly suggest indaba. It allows each country to be heard and they can come to a conclusion quickly. They can only voice their opinion in a certain way. A country gives their Red Line in a diplomatic way and the other can respond with their hard limits.
