Ask the friend to multiply the value of the coin in his or her RIGHT hand by 4, 6, or 8 and then to multiply the value of the coin in his or her LEFT hand by 3, 5, or 7. 2. b. Now ask the friend to add the two results together and tell you the total. c. If the total is EVEN, the penny is in the RIGHT hand. If the total is ODD, the penny is in the left hand.

In getting the x, you must first convert the said data in to a slope intercept form and the formula for it is y = mx+b so the slope is 7/16 while the y is 3.5.
