Carbohydrates are made of the polymers of the sugar. They consists of the glycosidic bond between them. Carbohydrates contains both the reducing and non reducing sugars. Carbohydrates are present in plasma membrane in association with lipids and proteins.

Lipids:

Lipids are made of the hydrophobic carbon chain and may also contain the hydrophilic acidic group constitutes the fatty acids. They generally ester bonds in their structure. They are insoluble in water. Lipids are the major constituent of plasma membrane and does not required the association of carbohydrates within it.
