Answer:

5.67 mph

Explanation:

average rate of speed = total distance traveled / time traveled

total distance traveled = 51 miles

time traveled = 9 hours

average rate of speed = 51 miles / 9 hours

                                     = 5.67 mph

hence the average rate of speed taken by a ship to cross from one end of a canal to the other end which is 51 miles at a time of 9 hours is approximately

5.67 mph.

moving at this speed indicates that the ship is running on a very low speed because if it were to be a car, the car would cover that same distance at a faster time.

1) 51 divided by 9= 5.6 miles per hour
2) I'm not sure about this one, but I think it's because at the ends, you are still in the Atlantic or Pacific ocean until you get farther into the Panama Canal.

Help! Why did colonists oppose the Stamp Act?
Lera25 [3.4K]
Because it Putnam tax on everything that required paper, including marriage licenses, business papers, stamps, blank paper, and literally anything else you could think of with paper. They found it excessive and an obnoxious insult from the Mother Country that originally kind of left them alone for so long.

HELP NEEDED !!!!! How did the union win the civil war ( anaconda plan , emancipation proclamation , battle of fort Wagner and Ha
Montano1993 [528]

Answer:

The Anaconda Plan.

Explanation:

The main purpose of the Anaconda plan was to defeat the rebellion by blockading southern ports and controlling the Mississippi river. This would cut off and isolate the south from the outside world. An Anaconda is a snake that squeezes and suffocates it's victim. Kind of scary if you think about it!
