<span>Well I cant draw a determinant in this format. Otherwise it was very simple to explain. Any way I will try to explain in words only.

In your case:

Assume first figure in each bracket as x-coordinate ( along with the individual sign ), and the second figure as y-coordinate ( along with the individual sign ). Thus

x1 = 1, x2 = 6 and x3 = 2. Similarly y1 = 1, y2 = 6 and y3 = 10
Then draw up a 3x3 determinant in which arrange x1, x2, x3 in First column, similarly y1, y2, y3 in the second column and put 1 , 1, 1 in the third column.

Then if D is the value of this determinant, the required area of the triangle will be half of it. Symbolically,

A = 1/2. D

In this case you get D = 40 units and Area = D/2 = 40/2 = 20 sq units...................... Answer</span><span>

Among the contestants in a competition are 46 women and 23 men. If 5 winners are randomly selected, what is the probability that
eimsori [14]

Answer:

When 5 winners are randomly selected, the probability that they are all men is 0.003.

Step-by-step explanation:

Among the contestants in a competition are 46 women and 23 men.

Total persons are =46+23=69

When one winner is chosen, there are 68 people left, when second winner is chosen there are 67 people left and so on.

So, the probability that they are all men is given by:

\frac{23}{69} \times\frac{22}{68} \times\frac{21}{67} \times\frac{20}{66} \times\frac{19}{65}

= \frac{4037880}{1348621560} = 0.002999 ≈ 0.003

Therefore, when 5 winners are randomly selected, the probability that they are all men is 0.003.

reggie pays 982.27 each month to rent an apartment. how much will it cost him to rent the apartment for two years
saw5 [17]

Answer:

982.27 = 1 month

12 months in one year

1 month x 12 is 12 months

982.27 x 12 = 11787.24

11787.24 x 2 = 23574.48

So, it is $23574.48

Determine two pairs of polar coordinates for (3,-3) when 0
Xelga [282]

The two pairs of polar coordinates for the given point (3, -3) with 0° ≤ θ < 360° are (3√2, 135°) and (3√2, 315°).

<h3>What is a polar coordinate?</h3>

A polar coordinate is a two-dimensional coordinate system, wherein each point on a plane is typically determined by a distance (r) from the pole (origin) and an angle (θ) from a reference direction (polar axis).

Next, we would determine the distance (r) and angle (θ) as follows:

r = √(3² + (-3)²)

r = √(9 + 9)

r = 3√2.

θ = tan⁻¹(-3/3)

θ = tan⁻¹(-1)

θ = 3π and 7π/4 (second and fourth quadrants).

Converting to degrees, we have:

θ = 135° and 315°.
