The famous "Sweeping Changes" political cartoon from 1932 represents how Franklin D. Roosevelt will reorganize the federal government in order to help America escape the Great Depression. As you can see in the picture, Congress is giving him this broom, showing that they generally support his ideas upon arriving to office. These sweeping changes that are referred to come with FDR's New Deal. This policy is based around relief, recovery, and reform. While President, FDR is going to create several different federal agencies that will not only put American citizens back to work but will also create laws that will help prevent another Great Depression from happening again.
