The reaction of the American colonists to the Proclamation of 1763 was that they angrily ignored it.

Britain gained new and vast portions of land after the French and Indian War and the Seven Years War. That is why British King George III issued the Royal Proclamation of 1763. It prohibited colonist to cross the Appalachian Mountains and moved West to the new territories. Of course, this did not like the American colonists and angrily ignored it. There was no real way for the British to control access into the western territories.
