The first step to solving this problem is figuring out what it is asking.The problem seems to be asking for how many robberies can occur with at least (meaning greater than or equal to) 24 suspects. To find how many robbers there are one should add the number of robbers from the north to robbers from the south. With the number of robberies in the north being x and the number of robberies in the south being y, and the number of suspects from each robbery on the north being 4 and the number of suspects in each robbery from the south being 2, one can multiply 2 by y to find the suspects on the south side, and 4 by x to find the number of suspects in the north. Doing this, and then adding the two quantities gives us 2y + 4x. Then, since we know that there are at least 24 suspects, we know that 2y + 4x is greater then or equal to 24. This gives us the answer of 2y + 4x => 24.

The hypotenuse AB of a right triangle ABC is 5 ft, and one leg, AC, is decreasing at the rate of 2 ft/sec. The rate, in square f
mojhsa [17]
Okay
we have the rate of change of AC = d(AC)/dt = -2
the rate of change od BC = d(BC)/dt
area = (1/2) *AC) (BC)
taking differential on both sides we ge
d(A)/dt = 1/2){ (BC) d(AC)/dt + (AC) d(BC)/dt)}....(1)
again
when AC= 3
applying pythagorous thm
we get
(5)^2 =(3)^2 +(BC)^2
hence we get BC = 4
now we need to find d(BC)/dt
we have
(5)^2 = (AC)^2 +(BC)^2
taking differenial
0=2(AC) d(AC/dt) +2BC d(BC)/dt
that is
d(BC)/dt = -(3) *(-2)/4 ..(at AC =3)
hence
d(BC)/dt = 3/2
substituting these values in equation (1)
d(A)/dt = (1/2) {4 * -2 + 3 *3/2}

which gives
d(A)/dt = -7/4

The rate, in square feet per second, at which the area is changing when AC = 3 is -7/4 ft/sec.

1. 1) Simplify the following expression: 5b - 5 - 12b - 7
Elodia [21]

Answer:

17b - 2

Step-by-step explanation:

5b - 5 - 12b - 7

Say bye to the 12b, and add 12 to it and the 5.

5b + 12 = 17b

17b - 5 - 7

Add 5 to the 5 and the -7.

-7 + 5 = -2.

Now you have 17b - 2. You can’t go farther, so there’s your answer.
