The US trained exiles from Cuba to kill the leader of Cuba (Fidel Castro) and when they were dropped of the mission failed , this was known as the “bay of pigs” the people were shot and killed . The Cubans ever since then had a missile pointed toward the United States by the Soviet Union. There was fear that the missile would be released and hit the US.
