I need a topic for an essay, but I don't really understand what it's supposed to be about, and I can't really ask the teacher ab

out it. I am being told to "investigate a specific aspect of a literary work from the colonial era and its relationship to a particular topic in history". I do not understand what that means. Can someone help explain this better?
