The correct answer is option D) Mutations lead to new genes, which may have an advantage over the old forms, causing the species to evolve.

Mutations are the alterations that occur in the DNA of an organism as a result of replication error or due to environmental factors. Usually, when many such mutations occur in an organism they tend to change the genetic make up of the organism leading to new genes. If these new genes are advantageous for the organism as compared to the old one then a new species tend to evolve. The newly evolved species is better than the old one. For example, such mutations caused homo sapiens to evolve from apes and it is evident that humans are much more evolved than apes.

Base your answer to the question on the passage below and on your knowledge of biology
Delvig [45]

Darwin concluded that the finches all shared a common ancestor but had  developed different beak structures.  The second sentence best describes as an ecosystem.

Explanation:

  • When Charles Darwin traveled to the Galapagos Islands, he observed 14 distinct varieties of finches on the islands Darwin also observed that each finch variety  ate a different type of food and lived in a slightly different habitat from the other finches, Darwin concluded that the finches all shared a common ancestor but had  developed different beak structures. The second sentence best describes as an ecosystem.
  • An ecosystem is a huge group of living organism such as plants, animals, micro-organisms in a particular area.
  • An ecosystem is a community of living organisms related with the nonliving components in the  environment, together interacting as a system.
  • its abiotic constituents, includes minerals, climate, soil, water, sunlight, and all other nonliving elements, and its biotic constituents, consists of all its living members.

TRUE OR FALSE
luda_lava [24]

Answer:

The correct answer is - true.

Explanation:

Popular genetics is the study of genetic diversity which is having several hypotheses and theories about genetic diversity and mutation of a particular genome.

The selection of such mutations in a genome occurs due to diversification. This postulates that due to the different environmental conditions two subpopulations of a species can have different alleles o a specific locus of the genome.
