1) In 'Inferno' as well as in the rest of 'Divine Comedy', Dante included a lot of elements from Bible and 'The Aeneid' by Vergil. Due to the lots of biblical elements this story can be defined as Biblical fiction and the depiction and meaning of Hell is a direct proof of this fact. Dante made a crossover of biblical and Vergilic elements describing his own personality in both allusional sacred way.

2) Dante included such allusions because he wanted to represent the perception of human evil in its categorization into different realms. He categorized sins and described them gradually by their level of complexity showing that people tend to measure everything even sins that can lead them to the journey to the Hell.

The (apostrophe) corrected text is given in the highlighted text as follows:

"I peered out the window at the lengthening shadows of the trees. We had been on the road for six hours, but it felt like sixty given the appalling surface. I was now worried that we wouldn’t arrive before nightfall, and my fears weren't helped by the drivers eccentric behavior. Although it was dark, he still hadn’t turned the vans lights on.

Through my translator, I enquired why, yet I immediately wished I hadn't. There weren’t any.

Fearing that we might all have to spend a night in the jungle, I ventured another question beloved of children everywhere. “Are we nearly there yet?” Just one more hour was the reply.

I checked my watch. Sunset was in 10 minutes. Fifty minutes on an unmade trail at 40 miles per hour. In the jungle. In the dark. Just great."

What is an Apostrophe?

In contractions, an apostrophe is a punctuation symbol that stands in for missing letters. The apostrophe replaces "wi" in the contraction "we'll," which means "we shall."

Additionally, it might denote possession, as in "Jane's automobile." The apostrophe denotes that Mary owns the vehicle.
