The correct answer to this open question is the following.

An advantage of holding State elections separately from federal elections might be that voters would focus more on state-level issues and candidates.

This is so true because when there is a federal election, most of the attention is on the Presidential campaign, the candidates, the debates, and all of the infrastructure that supports a presidential campaign in the United States. So when it is just a state election, voters can focus on the issues and problems in their states. There are no presidential election distractions, just focusing on party platforms and candidates promise to solve problems in the state.

What were causes of sectionalism?
Leto [7]

The correct answers are A) economic differences, B) the presidential election of 1860, D) social differences, and E) the issue of slavery.

The following were causes of sectionalism: A) economic differences, the presidential election of 1860, social differences, and the issue of slavery.

Sectionalism divided the United States into many forms. It confronted American people on a variety of issues that ended up in a bloody Civil War. The presidential election of 1860 divided the nation. Republican candidate Abraham Lincoln defeated Democratic candidate Stephen A Douglass, and Constitutional Union candidate Jhon Bell. There were many economic differences that divided poor people that tried to make a living with the wealthier people. This created social differences that were notorious and showed the lack of basic things that many people had. And of course, slavery, the issue that divided the North against the South. The Northern states supported desegregation laws while in the South they were against desegregation. For the Southern states, slavery was the base of the economy in the farm fields.

What situation contributed to the economic problems of the late 1920s?
ki77a [65]

The 1920’s was marked by drastic events in the U.S economy. After a decade of very high economic growth and boom in manufacturing (the Roaring Twenties), the Wall Street stock market began to slide down on October 24, 1929, and by November stock prices lost as much as 40% of its value. The drop was caused by overproduction of agricultural produce. The resulting oversupply caused farmer’s incomes to drop. People also purchased stocks using borrowed money, which contributed further to the slide.
