Answer: family planning means a woman monitors how many babies they can have by using contraceptive methods or condoms .

Why is it important?

1) It maintains population growth

- The world is facing major demands on resources due to the increasing population and the demand this put on the resources .

- it is important than that individuals of the society are able to maintain how many babies each woman can have so that we can prevent outstriping our own resources.

-Population has so much strains it put on the country to provide for its people and this affect the ability of the country to move forward economically.

2) Reducing adolescent pregnancies

- Family planning can help young people prevent unplanned pregnancy.

- This gives young people a chance to continue and finish their studies and be able to even study further .

- Young people who get pregnant suffers a lot of financial issues because they get pregnant when they are still in school or when they haven't even got their first job and even those kids that they give birth to will face the same predicament due to being born under poverty .

3) Empowering people and enhancing education

- It can empower women to make decision with their own lives.

- This will allow them to have their own career and it will also allow them to plan a proper education plan for their kids if they only have a few of them.

- They will be sufficient money to send them to proper schools .

4) Helping to prevent HIV/AIDS

- Family planning methods such as condoms will assist people to get protection from sexual infections such as HIV and other sexual transmitted diseases.

5) Reducing infant mortality

- Sometimes infants dies because the mother is too old to bear a child which may cause many complications .
