Beatty is a fireman and Montag's boss.  He loves books but he burns them down. He is a victim of the context because he seems to have deep thoughts but he cannot rebel against the authoritarian system. Beatty complies with the imposed lifestyle: to have  fun and to live the moment. Finally, he is killed by Montage after Beatty has obliged him to burn his own house down.
