America was still young, working on slavery, and there was more trade. People now have large plantations that consisted of tobacco, cotton, and sugar cane. Laws were still trying to be implemented, and congress was objecting or approving proposed laws. Slavery was big in the South. Bigger tolls or limits and boundaries were set for the African American slaves.

Resigning his post led to his trial and conviction of cruelty to colonists and natives. Exiled from Mexico for five years, he went to Spain where the king appointed him head of mining inspectors. He died there in 1626.
